It's the dawning of a brand new age
Time to step ahead and turn the page
Seize the moment and take center stage
Sing an encore... one more time!

"class rivalry"

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Friday, November 21, 2003 - 11:07pm General Choir Chat
ok in recent events (that i've just read) i thought i would start a new thread just to say. that i would have to agree with tom d. this class rivalry is really driving people (and him) nuts. yes i will say some time other non VT choir members don't feel like they are being treated equally and some of the VT's are "acting" better then others. but what everyone has to take in mind is.

VT: think of when you weren't a VT you probably thought the same things we do. I think just about every one feels like that.

OTHER CHOIR MEMBERS: you have to realize that you are a good singer too. and try not to let the things others say about you (or how they say things good or bad intentually or not, get to you.)

and what eveyone needs to realize is we are not a good choir and i'm not just talking about VT. or COL. or VEL. or 6th or 5th periods i'm talking about MSH choir as a hole is not a GREAT choir if we can't get along and get over some of these petty little rivalrys. becauz if we could then we would be an even stronger choir and an even closer "family" which would make choir even funner, and more injoyable to all.

thats all i have to say and i hope all of you that read this take what i said into consideration.

always

I totally agree with this person or group of people who wrote this because that rivalry stuff is childish stuff that needs to stop. How are we suppose to be a choir family( a unit) and there is mess going on. Can't we all just get along!

I am a Vocalteen, and I agree that they should not treat others very rudely just because they are in a higher choir, and a lot of the people throughout all the choirs assume they're better than lots of other people, and therefore act like snobs. Unless everyone ELSE knows you're the best, out of the choir or just your section, do not assume you are the best. And even if you are, don't be rude to those who aren't as good. Also, remember, it's one choir, and one sound. Everybody really needs to work to sing the right notes together rather than do their own thing!!!!

No ones the BEST

I pritty much agree with you, but i don't really think anyone person is the best(which is more of an Opinion)
Think of it this way, there will always be someone better then you. Also just becauz you think you/someone is "The Best" doesn't mean they/others see it the same way.
I think everyone is Good in their own way(s). But theres always room for improvement.
